A maple seed is a winged nut with a unique aerodynamic property —autorotation; this type of fruit is called a samara.

Samara is an interactive audiovisual instrument. 

Every press triggers an “autorotation”: a ring of samaras instantly begins to spin, the matching note sounds, and the seeds flare with colour. Gesture = sound = motion = colour. The result is a meditative ritual in which the viewer becomes the performer, and childhood memories of “helicopter” seeds merge with digital game
